Gomal University Journal of Research (established in 1981- ISSN: (print) 1019-8180 and (online) 2708-1737) is an official journal of Gomal University recognized by HEC in "Y" category. It is a quarterly (4-issues), broad- spectrum, Blind Peer-Review, Open Access, and internationally indexed journal. Journal publishes Original Research Papers, Review Articles, Communications, invited reviews, Commentaries, and Research Notes that conform to its scope and editorial standards. In order to expedite the process, the journal introduced the Online Journal Management System for online submission and processing of the manuscripts. The policy document covers the following aspects:

  1. FREQUENCY OF PUBLICATION

The publication schedule of Gomal University Journal of Research comprises One (1) VOLUME with Four (4) ISSUES per Year.

The publication timeline of Gomal University Journal of Research represents the complete duration from articles submissions to publications with the following descriptions:

  1. AUTHORSHIP OF THE PAPER

The authorship of the papers denotes the scholarly contributions of the authors in different fields as per their scope and relevancy (Researchers, Faculties & Ph.D. Scholars). Gomal University Journal of research accepts the authorships from contributors as per the scope of the journal. The statement about author contributions to work

 

or equal contributions of work should be included as separate statement. The bylines should include all those who have made substantial contributions to the research work. The full names and e-mail addresses along with contact numbers of all authors (principal, co-authors & corresponding) must be provided on the authors and institutional affiliations page (first-page) upon the submission of the manuscript. Moreover, the use of ORCID identifiers is encouraged.

  1. ORIGINALITY AND PLAGIARISM POLICY

As part of the submission process of the articles submitted to Gomal University Journal of Research, the authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Manuscript submitted is based on original work and is not plagiarized (no part of the article is plagiarized and credit has been given to existing researcher by using appropriate
  2. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  3. The manuscript contains nothing that is abusive, defamatory, libelous, obscene, fraudulent, or illegal. If the author(s) send the same article to any other publisher within or outside the country, they will let us know in anticipation which will be considered as my voluntary withdrawal from the Gomal University Journal of

  1. PEER REVIEW POLICY
    1. Submission of Paper

The corresponding author can submit the article for possible publication in Gomal University Journal of Research via the online journal management system (OJS).

  1. Editorial Office Assessment

The journal checks the article arrangement and composition as per the author's guidelines and scope of the Gomal University Journal of Research. At this point, the quality of the article is not assessed.

  1. Appraisal by Chief Editor

The chief editor checks that the article is appropriate as per journal’s scope and is original and interesting. If not, the paper may be rejected at this stage without being reviewed any further.

  1. Chief Editor Assigns to Managing Editor

After appraising the article by the chief editor, it is assigned to the managing editors to appraise the article through desk review/editing.

  1. Desk Review

The managing editor examines the article as per the scope of the journal and as per the contents required by the Gomal University Journal of Research and suggests the possible improvements in the article for further improvements.

  1. Sharing suggestions with Authors

The possible improvements as suggested by the associate editor through desk review is shared with the authors to incorporate the suggested changes to further improve the quality of the article. After these incorporations, the article is moved to the review phase.

  1. Invitation to Reviewers

 

The managing editor sends invitations to reviewers within specialized fields. As responses are received from the reviewers, the paper is sent to reviewers for review (two international) as per the scope of the articles and expertise.

  1. Review is Conducted

The reviewer sets time aside to read the article by highlighting the strengths and weaknesses. The first read is used to form an initial impression of the work. If major problems are found at this stage, the reviewer may feel comfortable rejecting the paper without further work. The review is then submitted to the journal, with a recommendation to accept or reject (minor revision or major revisions).

  1. Journal Evaluates the Reviews

The associate editor considers all the returned reviews before making an overall decision. If the reviews differ widely, the editor may invite an additional reviewer to get an extra opinion before making a decision.

  1. Decision is Communicated

The editor sends the decision email to the author including the relevant reviewer comments and suggests the author incorporate all these changes accordingly as per the suggestions of the reviewers.

  1. Final Decision

The author incorporations are ensured by the editorial team and if found satisfactory then the article accepted and sent to copyediting. After the copyediting, the article is sent to production phases and the schedule for publication has been provided/specified.

 

  1. ARTICLE PROCESSING/PUBLICATION FEE

Gomal University Journal of Research charges Rs. 20000/- as publication fee in order to improve the journal’s indexation and to meet the journal’s expenditures. Authors are required to deposit Rs. 20000/- as publication fee in below-mentioned account after acceptance of article for publication in Gomal University Journal of Research. Gomal University Journal of Research has no charges for the international authorship to attract international authorship.

Clear and accurate knowledge sharing is the main objective of Gomal University Journal of Research to facilitate the academic community through information distribution. The policy and principle towards the research data denotes the author (s) responsibility for submitting accurate and reliable research data for publication with following description:

Gomal University Journal of Research is an Open Access Journal which means that its contents are available free for the Without asking any prior permission from the publisher, the users are allowed to read, download and use its contents for lawful purposes wherein by using its contents, the users are required to quote the materials with references where it is used in citation that is prescribed under predetermined conditions specified by guidelines, code of conduct and CC by NC. Therefore, the authors hold the copyright for their work and can use it for their legal purpose without any permission from the journal.
  2. The contents of Gomal University Journal of Research are open as their archives are freely available on its website. Thus, for licensing and copyright, Gomal University Journal of research follows the open access and open archives policies to facilitate the users of the journal. However, the users are required to cite the work with proper reference wherever they are using contents of Gomal University Journal of It is the responsibility of the journal to maintain metadata of articles processed for publications submitted to journal which can be communicated on-demand where required.
  3. The copyright of the manuscripts published in GUJR are retained by the author/authors by granting the first publication rights to Gomal University Journal of Research. Gomal University Journal of Research and editorial team will not be responsible for any successive use of the author(s) work and even if desired so, it is the responsibility of author(s) to bring an encroachment action by providing the clear statement about the conflict of interest in the copyright agreement between the authors and the Gomal University Journal of Research to ensure the transparency of the publication

  1. ANY OTHER NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL GUIDELINE

The guidelines include bibliographic and formatting standards alongside examples of common citation formats to be used in submissions.

  1. Gomal University Journal of Research considers manuscripts submitted via Open Journal System (OJS) that could be accessed either via Gomal University Website or gujr.com.pk.
  2. Authors are required to get registered via Open Journal System prior to submission of manuscript for the publication thereby ensuring the research
  3. Once registered, authors are advised to follow the submission guidelines and ensure to have formatted the manuscript according to the format that Gomal University Journal
  4. Once the manuscript is received online (OJS), desk editors will filter the manuscript in light of Author- Based on desk review, manuscript is either sent back to author(s) for further modifications or sent for review.
